The DUBES game

The DUBES game is decision making game that supports sustainable urban development.

Gameplay

Players take on the roles of stakeholders that are requested to draw a plan- for the sustainable urban renewal of a neighborhood.

The game was created as two session game.

In the first session, players supported by MEDIA system explore the opportunities in planning for urban development.

The first session end when players decide an overview of the program for development with a list of decisions that also should be included into the plan.

In the second session, participants work on new strategies and argumentations for their  sustainable urban development program.

Options chosen by the participants are marked down on paper and written into MEDIA computer program.

MEDIA computer tool gives players additional feedback such as information on consequences etc.

Created as a tool to combine political rationality with substantive modeling.
