Up to You! is a multiplayer social simulation game released in 2024, designed for players aged 14 and up. While targeted at teens, it’s suitable for anyone seeking valuable lessons and fun.

The game is set in a world with three countries: Rosa, Magnolia, and Triland, each managed by various ministries responsible for sectors like Economy & Trade, Water & Environment, Society & Workforce, and Education & Research. These ministries handle tasks ranging from building infrastructure and protecting the environment to addressing social needs and advancing technology.

Roles are clearly defined within this setup, and the society, environment, and market dynamically respond to players’ decisions. However, the game doesn’t impose specific goals or tasks; players set their own objectives and strategies. They can choose to cooperate within their country, focus on their ministry, engage with or isolate themselves from other nations, and manage resources sustainably or exploitatively. The direction and outcomes of the game are entirely in the players’ hands.

Trivia

The project Making Europe’s Future Sustainable! A simulation-based learning program is a project co-funded by the European Union within the Erasmus+ program.

A consortium composed of the Austrian Foundation for Development Research, the Centre for System Solutions from Poland, the Rogers Foundation from Hungary, and the Vienna University Children’s Office from Austria implemented the project from May 2022 until July 2024.

In 2024, the Centre for Systems Solutions created the Just Transition Up to You! serious game for the BoMiasto Association. This version of  the Up to You! focuses on the energy transition – players  have to pay greater attention to how the energy transition affects people on many levels – including job availability, living standards, and meeting the energy needs of the region, as well as the development of other production sectors.
