Disaster Master is an educational board game produced by the UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education in Bangkok (Thailand). It conveys messages that help players to understand what a natural disaster is and what actions can be taken to reduce the impact of disasters. It specifically  addresses earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, landslides, hurricanes and volcanic eruptions, and contains a glossary in the reference booklet.

Gameplay

Players answer the questions on the cards. Their answers decide the outcome of the game. The more they know about disaster management and preparedness, the more chances they have to score points.

Players have an opportunity to learn about disasters while listening to other players answers and to the moderator who can read answers pre-prepared by the game designers.

Context

The game aims to gain knowledge about natural disasters through play. It refers to such disasters as hurricanes, floods, droughts, tsunamis, etc.
