There is a lot of confusion about the difference between gamification and learning based on games. Furthermore, even the educators who use both methods in daily teaching activities have hard time differencing between them. That is why today we will focus on explaining the fundamental characteristics of game based learning and gamification.

To put it simply, gamification is the application of the game mechanics into non-game situations. On the other hand, the second one, takes games and makes them a part of a learning process by incorporating them into a teaching curriculum.
